Anthony M. Perry
Current Position
Assistant Professor, STEM Education; College of Education and Human Development; University of North Dakota
Lab Focus
Our lab focuses on two big questions:
- How does framing STEM education as a pathway to high-paying, in-demand occupations affect student engagement?
- How might we (re)design the education system to create equitalble STEM learning experiences which leverage assets in communities, schools, classrooms, and individuals?
Our work centers the learner, their relationship with community partners (e.g., schools, informal learning, family, and place), and their imagined futures. Often, this work takes place in the context of Career and Technical Education (CTE) where students can learn technical skills as a strategy to address wicked problems in the workplace and society writ large.
